I always send out a shared document and invite the students to introduce themselves and post a photo of themselves. This 'soft' introduction acts as an exercise in orienting; a simple, and powerful biological tool used intentionally in somatic work to help to build a sense of safety and presence in the nervous system.

Recent Graduate Taking Therapy to New Heights! With this course, and with the somatic therapist who supported me alongside it, I learned so much about myself to the point where I could catch my thoughts, imagine a protector by my side (which turned out to be me), and hold the hand of the inner child who held all those fears.
