At the end of June, I had the pleasure of facilitating a one-day, in-person workshop at the beautiful LifeWorks Community space at Hartley Farm. The day brought together a rich blend of theoretical teaching, discussion, and experiential practice, all focused on working somatically with the nervous system.
Participants were introduced to nervous system tracking; what it is, why it matters, and how to guide a client through it. We explored the role of resourcing, and how supporting a client in establishing a felt sense of safety is essential groundwork before deeper trauma processing can begin.

In the afternoon, we shifted into practice groups. Attendees took turns guiding each other to notice internal cues of both safety and mild stress, gaining valuable insight into how to support clients in tracking nervous system states. It was an opportunity for both practitioner and ‘client’ to experience how simple awareness can bring about significant shifts.
One participant shared, "I didn’t expect such depth of learning in such a short space of time." Others spoke of being inspired to learn more, surprised by the impact of somatic work in such a short practice session, and grateful for the structure, support, and openness of the day.
I’m always moved by the depth of presence and willingness people bring to these workshops and trainings, and this day was no exception.
